Day 3 of the new year. The year started off great . John and I were in Greenwood for the occasion. We went by Mary Haley and Henry for a while to see all the kids. Innes and family, Millie and family, also Mandy and boys were there. That was great to see them since we past up on Thanksgiving this year. Leaving there we went to Flatland for a bite of dinner. After getting all dressed up to see the new year in we caught the shuttle over to the Alluivan for the party. If was a really fun night. The band was great and played non stop . Food was nice , and at midnight they put out mini hamburgers and fries.
We shared a table with Harry Ray Tribble and his wife, along with a couple from Decatur Ala. It was a fun group.
Next morning we went to Mama Smiths for they new years dinner.........all the trimmings. Patti even made pecan pies.
Friday morning Betty Jane and Joe along with their riding buddies left out for Florida. They will be heading home next weekend. Hope it isnt too cold...
Decided it was time for John to have peace and quite; so I came home to get wash done and ready for school Monday.......
Only 89 more days of school for this year. In a few weeks Millie and I are heading for Montgomery to see Mini Mc.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all.......

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. This year is almost over. It has been a good year....it was a year that gave us many new things. A new president will be taking over in a few weeks, an economy that has hurt us all, price of gas have fallen, and today I welcome a new GREAT nephew, Jackson Boyd, arrived this afternoon. He came a few weeks early but we welcome him with loving arms. He weighted only 5 pounds 4 oz. Mini Mc will grow quickly and be as big as his dad (Jeff) soon. So his nick name really does suit him..........WELCOME MINI MC....
Today my sweet Sydney fell and broke her tooth, thank goodness it was in the back. Tomorrow I will see the new year come in...............good bye "father time" and welcome to the "new year baby"
Have a lot to look forward to in 2009...........good health, loving family, my sweet angel 'Sydney ', John, and of course turning 60.
So be happy, healthy, and thank God for all your blessings............see you in 2009.

The season of family and joy is here. With all my years.....I have found that the younger generation has a different look on life. They seem to think that life is all about what they can have, material thing they can buy , and how much money they have.
To me family is the meaning of love. I dont mean what you will get from them, what can they do for me, or how much will you gain. The acts of love, kindness and enjoyment of doing for others , or giving is what love is all about. I would drop anything in my life to give or do for my family. If a person does something for others only looking into the furture as to how they will gain, that is not love. This is the time of our Christ........how would he look at people today............It seems that this age is all about "me"...........what can I have, or what will I gain. How can someone like this feel they are a child of Christ. I just dont believe Christ intent was on what he would gain, but on how and what could he do for others.
People are so transparent......trying to live what they feel is a Christain life, but do they live a CHRIST like life. No they are selfish.
You family is all you have, give of yourself and time. Spend time with them , help them , just be there.
The time will come when you will look back and have regrets...........those gift, material things, money .............that stuff is nothing. Take the time to lean a hand..........be there....love.....
Having the best of everything is having love, family and happiness.
I just wish I had the chance to go the store for my mother again or run the vacuum for my Daddy again. You cant take things with you ........but regrets last forever.
Just remember that your actions say alot. Just saying you love your family and how important they are........all that doesnt prove anything. You have to be there, stand for something. Dont be fake , be true to your word.
Merry CHRISTmas.............
