Christmas is over................2010 is almost here. I am going to try to make some changes in my life in the new year. Gotta try to loose the last pound to reach my goal, need to put some things in the past, try to be a happier person, and make some plans for a trip this summer.
2009 was a good year but also had some sad times. Had some death of friends, my relationship changed, and hey got a year OLDER .Being 60 was no big thing to me.
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all .... my all your wishes come true, be safe and healthy .

Last week of school before Christmas break. I have done ZERO shopping and better than that I might do ZERO shopping. Decided not to put up a tree. First time in 60 years no tree in my house. No point to it!! Sydney will not be coming to my house any and I could care less. Dont plan to spend much time here during my break anyway.
Will try to do a short bike trip, have a few things planned already, will go to Lindas a few days, and then there is New Years. I might go to the Alluivan party again this year. I called the other day and they have plenty of tickets, so might just get me one and go. Oh well not worried about that right now.
As long as I get to see my family and friends during the holidays that will be all I need.
So if I dont get around to posting anything before Christmas.....MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ....AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Looking forward to 2010.....gota be better.

Just a short post this morning....been awhile since I wrote on here. This week is leading to the end of this semester at school. Trying to get all my school work together.
The end of this week Im going on a motorcycle trip. We are heading out Friday morning to Savannah GA. Weather not looking the best but we are going to hope for the best and hit the highway.

Thanksgiving is over, said, and done. The McIntyre clan had a great time. We ate, drank, and were for sure merry. Oh my we had soooooooo much food. Most of us stayed at the Hampton Inn...so we got in many hours of talk and visiting.
Now to get on with this next two weeks of school ,then out for Christmas. Im so very ready.
The holidays did bring some sad times for us. My niece's friend lost his father. He was a fairly young man about 47 I think. Then Belzoni lost one of its good young men, Rod Rodgers. That was one of the saddest things that has ever happened to someone I know. This will be a terrible time for his family over the next few months.
Let's all keep them in our prays.........Lisa you and your children are in my thoughts.

A new week is here. It will be a great week I hope full of joy and family. We will all decend on Greenwood Wed. afternoon. Hope that place can handle it one more year. Everyone has cooking to do , gifts to get together, and fun to plan.
I hope everyone will have a happy Thanksgiving. Eat, drink, and be joyful......

It is only one more week until Thanksgiving. The small church in Minter City where John attends , and where I went with him, will not be thankful as a church family this year. The most terrible thing happened over the week end. Sometime between Sat . night and Sunday morning some one entered the home of the pastor and murdered him and his sitter. He had been getting treatments and surgery for Parkinson's. The person that did this crime killed them in a very violent way. Jimmy , the pastor, had his throat cut and the sitter was stabbed many times from what I understand. Please pray for Scotty, Jimmy's wife, and this church family.
They were always so warm and welcoming to me. I have just been sick to my stomach all day.

Only one more week til Thanksgiving break. OH yes...........It has been great weather. I went to Hattisburg Friday to visit a friend of mine, got up early and headed home this morning. Wanted to go riding. That was fun.......ended up on part of the Trace and the foliage was nice.
I will go riding tomorrow after I get some stuff done around the house. Just cant sit home with the warm sunshine out there. So VOOM VOOM......let's ride.

Been awhile since I wrote anything on here. Dont think anyone looks at it but that is ok. The weather finally turned normal, instead of the monsoon we have had. This gives John and the rest of the farmers time to finish cutting bean or picking cotton. Has been a hard few months for me.
Im ready for a break from school.....hope the weather is pretty while Im out of school. If not Ill go crazy stuck in the house. Thanksgiving this year will be at Mary Haleys again. I will enjoy getting together and seeing all the family. It is always a great fun time. Also this year during the holiday break Ill have my BIG 60 birthday. I my try to go out of town for a few days....maybe camping.... or just ride somewhere.
This year will be gone before we know it.

The trip for the wedding was good. Had nice weather and the fall colors were beautiful. Got home yesterday afternoon in time to go for a good ride. Looks like rain in back in our future for tomorrow.
This coming week end think I going down to Hattiesburg to visit a friend. Hope the weather will let me ride my bike.
This year has just flown by..........few more months and we will be seeing 2010 ringing.

Homecoming is over.............oh thank you Lord. Things are starting to settle down a little at school this week. Trying very hard to get caught up on annual work. That will keep me busy fro a few weeks. But at least I have some staffer that can help more this year.
Hope this weather clears up soon. Had planned to go on a biker camp out this week end.....but sure not going in the rain and mud. Will see what happens by Friday.
Next few weeks got stuff going on all the time.
Everything else is going great. Linda is finally getting well ...that is great. Sam had a birthday Monday....Ben's is coming in a few weeks. Then going to Mountain View Ar Oct 14 weekend to ride and see the fall colors.

Im so sorry about Mamie......

As everyone knows a few weeks ago some bikers from the Delta Riders made a trip to Mountain View AR. We had a great time, but my trip home turned a little unsettling. One of the tires on my trailer went out and needed barrings. So we stopped on the side of the road and sweet John took care of it for me. After he got the parts he broke down the tire and put new pieces in .....and off we all went.

Tomorrow will be last day off. Didnt get to go see Linda this week end. She will not go home til tomorrow. Do think she is feeling much better today. Have spent my holiday riding my motorcycle. John has been working on the combine at Robert's everyday til later in the night, have missed seeing him. Hopefully they will have it all done soon and be ready to cut beans.
The next few weeks for him will be run.... run.... run.....til the crop is in.
I will be busy also with school, going to see Linda, riding and seeing John when I can.

As for me...........Im doing ok. I just want everyone to please keep my sweet sister- in- law in their prayers tomorrow as she has surgery.
There is not a sweeter, more giving, and loving person than my sister in law; I love you girl.

Will have air by about 9 in the morning. They are coming to put in a new window unit, so have that taken care of.

Next week end is labor day........will have family coming to stay here for the dove hunt. I will probably be leaving town..........I havent made plans yet but good weekend to hit the road.

My air conditioner went out tonight. Turned it on and NOTHING happened. Been thinking it was going to happen. Good thing school has started..not here that much. Will have to see what I can find................pray for cool weather to continue.

Had a great week end..........went to the bike rally in Mountain View Ar.. The weather was wonderful....high yesterday was 74 . Went with the bike club from Greenwood "Delta Riders". They are a great group of people. We are had a wonderful time and enjoyed time with each other most of all. We did some nice rides, enjoyed the rally , and ate wayyyyyyyyyy too much food. We were treated with food cooked by Trike Mike last night. He cooked fish, fries, and eggplant for us to enjoy. Thanks Trike Mike............. On the way home today had trouble with a tire on my trailer. My sweet John fixed me up , while all the other bike club friends stayed with us the whole time til we made it home. Bikers are the best......THANKS. Hope we all get to make a trip again soon..........

School second week

We are now into our second week of school. Things at Humphreys Academy are going very well. The enrollment is up a good bit, in spite of the student that left for other reason; we have more student now than last year. Way to go HA.........
Our new short day is wonderful.............we get our classes done then school is out. There is no wasted time or time for the student to get into trouble.
The annual staff have had two meeting and we are on the way to picking our cover and getting busy. From all I have heard the annual with all of it's new color was a great hit with everyone. Hope we can do as well this coming year.
Football season is going full force. All of our team from the PEE WEES to the Varsity are getting their game on. The softball team has been on the field playing their hearts out. Cheerleaders for all the teams are getting routines down.
We have been able to make some new purchases................a laptop for the annual, flat screen digital Tv, book for the elementary library,and other supplies.
All the students are in the classes and working.
On the whole things are going GREAT.
For me I love the new schedule, my classes are good, and time is going by very quickly.
Homecoming is going to be early this year. Think around mid September. WE have chosen maid and class officers. School day pictures are tomorrow.

Today I rode to the rally at Sturgis MS................was a great ride this morning......cool. Lots of bike there. Then by noon it was pretty HOT......just as you would expect in Mississippi on this day.

Week end is coming to a close..........tomorrow is the first full day of school. Looks like a good year on the horizon. We are also having meet the rebels tomorrow night. SO taking pictures for the annual has begun.
This years all color annual was a big hit Friday............all the students loved it and I have even gotten calls and praise from parents. Know there are a few errors but on the whole Im very proud of it.
The students that didnt get one missed out......we have some left...so bring your money and get your book.
later...........we will miss our teachers that made changes in their lives and the students that are going in new directions. I am proud of HA and glad to be there this year.

SCHOOL DAYS

Tomorrow we have students and school begins. This year is going to be great. Parents have been out doing some fixing ups in the school and teachers are all excited. We have several new teachers and quite a few new students. I have 3 new students in the 8th grade. Also annuals will be given out tomorrow...........I know the kids will love them. ALL COLOR....and paid for , cant beat that.
Everyone and everything is so positive this year, even the kids seem excited.
We have 3 new men teachers in Jr/Sr high. SO now the number of men and women is equal.
It is going to be a great year..............full of learning and achieving. Plus we are getting out each day at 2:15.............oh how great will that be.

Our Grandmothers trip to the Smokie Mountains was great. The header pic is just one I took. The cabin we rented was great ..small but just enough room for us. There was a hot tub on the porch which gave us time to just relax. WE had rain each day but never bothered us and our plans.
Took a ride into Cades Cove the first afternoon. Saw lots of deer, turkey, and even saw bear. Yes we got to see a mother bear with her 3 cubs. YES 3 cubs. We took a riding trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Stopped at lots of local art shops, ate lunch in the old pigeon area, and tried to get out of Gatlinburg fast as we could.
The last day we went white water rafting. OH MY GOSH ....was that a blast. Something I have always wanted to do , now I can take that off my bucket list. You can bet I will do it again. We had a great guide. He let us surf in the rapids. This is a trick the guides do by putting the front of the raft down in a wave on a 4 rapid. It causes the front of the raft to go unseated and ride the wave. We did it 3 times.............oh what fun.
Ate dinner out our last night ......had trout. We all enjoyed that.
It was a blast..............looking forward to the next time.

Home from my ride in Ark.......had a great time just riding and looking. Wish John could have gone but I understand he couldn't this time. I rode 975 miles in my 3 days up there. Only got lost once so that is good. Leaving Wed for Nashville to get with Martha Lou and Linda then we are headed to the Smokies for a few days. We always love our girl get aways...........even if it rains we will have a blast and do the white water.

Summer is almost over ....we finally got rain and things have cooled down a bit. Went up to see Sydney today. That girl is a mess.
Came home put some ribs on the grill and loaded my bike. Got clothes, tent, cooler, pillow, and towel. So in the morning IM heading out to ride. No one wanted to go with me, so IM out of here in the morning.
When I get home will wash and pack again to go to Smokies with Linda and Martha Lou. They wanted to take me somewhere for my 6oth birthday so I said lets go for it. Im excited we have a cabin and are going white water rafting. That is something I have alwaysssssssssssss wanted to do. Will take Taffy to the vet to board on the 28th ...go for doctor appt ... then leave out on the 29th for Nashville.
Then when I get home Ill be going to school the next day. Doesnt matter.......didnt think I was going to get to go anywhere this summer but seems like now Im not home at all. Least it not costing me much. I have to travel cheap.

The class reunion for BHS was a huge success. Everyone that attended had a great large time. The people that choose not to come MISSED a wonderful get together. I hope we can do it again without waiting 40 more years.
Seeing all those people was great, of course I couldn't remember most of them , but as the week end carried on I figured out who most were. Let me tell you...some I would never had know and some looked much the same. All of us were a little grayer, older, and of course heavier ( not fat just heavy).

John and I made a trip to Alabama yesterday to be with his kids for a day while they were there on a short get away. Was a nice visit.

This week end we are having a class reunion of 4 classes. Starting with 67, 68 ,69, and 70. That makes it 42 years since I graduated. will be several events going on being topped off with the Krackerjacks playing at the country club tomorrow night.
Ask John to come but he wouldn't.
Depending on the weather out look the beginning of the week, I might go on a short bike trip. Will be going alone, John will be watering he said. Maybe we will get more rain for him the first of the week.

RAIN finally came...............yea yea yea........have been online looking at motorcycle roads in Ark. Since it has cooled off , might be time to head out in a few days for a ride. Found some good roads I havent been on and if the river has water might canoe. Havent checked the water levels but will.
Will get my bike washed and cleans up tomorrow then will ready to take off.
Know all the farmers are so glad to have some rain, they can use more but will take any they get. And these cool temps are the best.

Ben called me last night and my sweet Sydney cried and said " Daddy please take me to the beach" so he told Sam pack and they headed out. Yesterday before I took her home she started saying Gammie take me to the beach .....told Sam we would go a few days next week , but Ben was wrapped when he saw that baby's tears and begging her daddy to take her to the beach. Cant wait to see what Sydney has to tell Gammie about the beach.
Im so glad he did.................they need this time as a family.....and he works way too much.

4th of July

It was a great fun day for our clan as always. We had a small family get together at Mary Haleys and Henrys for the fourth. This was done mainly for everyone to meet Jeffery. The whole clan couldnt make it for one reason or another but it was still a blast.
Seeing everyone is always great.....food cant be beat......the BS is always flowing in full force.
Getting to spend the whole day with Sydney was so special for me. Of course she wore me slap out. By night time I felt as if I had been in a race for my life . That girl is a mess .....she has one speed full force. I know I ran 25 miles, climbed 4000 steps, and swam 10 miles. This morning my body was saying the same thing. It was so great.
John's daughter Suzanne and Mary Peyton also came over. Think Mary Peyton enjoyed to pool. Know she liked the chocolate cake.
Stories were told by Rip, kids rode the 4 wheeler. and the animals tried to keep up.
We has a blast...............so Happy Birthday to the USA.

This week is half over. Have been busy trying to clean my house. Have done all IM doing......even washed down these panel walls. They get so nasty........dust just clings to the panel. Also been busy in my yard and garden...................I tell you each year I say Im not doing a garden but I do. When veggies start coming in you have to be here every other day to pick.
Got my family coming in fro the get together at Mary Haleys the 4th. I love it when our family get together....................if you can stand all the BS. WE do have great fun. Chris is also coming home so should have a house full around here.
Have done pretty well on my diet..............at least people up town see me and say " My you have lost weight." Have about 15 more pounds for my goal. If I can get that off will be happy......if I loose more that is a bonus. Biggest problem is having to buy new clothes as I loose.

Today we laid to rest Edgar Butler and his family. How do you express the feeling ............the service was very nice. Sadness doesn't even touch what this family feels.
At the grave side the family sang Happy Birthday.....for today would have been Edgar's 38th birthday. You loose your child then have to lay them to rest on their birthday..........I cant even imagine.
Pray for all that loved this family, they are with God and filled with joy...........we on earth are filled with sorrow.

I just have a comment, a view, or an opinion. Whatever people out there want to call it. This community has always given so very much to the people here. They just give, not asking questions or wanting things in return. Well it make me mad as heck that some people don't understand the importance of having a school and that everyone has to support that school. If the school of a town closes.............the next thing the stores and business disappear. People then have to pack up and move............church close and end up as empty building. If parents and people with their own business don't support the school...............they might as well pack and move, because who do you think you will do work for , or sale good to , or buy from. It will not take much time for that result to come.
Get a grip ................be an adult. Adults don't act like kids and react when they don't get their way.
We have a school that has graduated lots of successful people, and will in the future. If a child here wants an education it will be provide. We have good teachers that do care.
Our school will remain for many year ...... I have always felt if my child can be in a class of even 5 ..that is even better. Look at the attention and help they will get.
Sometime I think the kids are more mature than the adults. Life is wayyyyyyy short to so get over it.

The funeral arrangement are set for the services of the E. B. Smith family. Visitation will be Sunday June 28 at 1:00 followed by the service at 2:00 both to be held at the Indianola Academy Gym. The grave site is in Ruleville Ms locate just out of Ruleville on Hwy 8 going west toward Cleveland, the cemetery is on the south side of the hwy.
The family member were E.B. Smith age 37, Kim Smith age 40, Butler Smith age 15 and Emily Smith age 12.
Please continue to pray for the entire Smith family and all the relatives on Diane's and Kim's side.
This has been such an awful tragedy.

Today is a very sad day in my heart and for John's family. Last night we lost the family of E.B Smith. He, his wife Kim, their son Butler, and daughter Emily were all taken in an accident. An 18 wheeler ran over them killing all 4.
Please keep this sad family in your heart and prays over the next few days.
We will miss this part of the family..............

At John's tonight, heading out for Nashville in the morning. Going up to spend a few days with Martha Lou and do the girl thing. Then will come home Sat. to get ready for next week. That will be a busy one. Sure the garden will need lots of attention when I get home, yard will have to be mowed , and flowers to water. Then Martha Lou is coming to my house mid week , with Linda coming in on Friday. We are having a family get together for the 4th at Mary Haley's. Also on the 4th is a birthday party for Uncle TC. Will make that for a while, then head to Greenwood to Mary Haley's and Henry's.
GOOD news today John got a little rain shower, at this point we will take whatever we get..........YEA RAIN. My sweet John bought me a back pack sprayer yesterday when he was in Memphis. I had been using an old one he had but it played out. This was a surprise for me.....he so sweet.
Went by to see Sydney today, always like to see her before I go on a trip. You can never tell...........just want her to know I love her.
Sure hope John gets more rain..............then we will be able to go on a trip. He said he wanted to ride to Branson and Springfield if we got rain. That should be fun.

The week end is over but it was a great week end, except for the heat. Got to keep Sydney twice over the week end, that girl is a mess. Her independence and strong will are ready developing. Everything is " I do it" , then she points that finger and tells you "top it". We played, read book, watch Tv, then played in her little pool. I took her some fruit and melon, she loves watermelon.
Sunday I rode my motorcycle. Even though it was very hot, I enjoyed the ride. Went to Yazoo ate lunch, and headed for the hills. Most of the roads had shade, which made it pleasant. Did loose 2 pounds riding......ha ha ha...drank 3 glasses of water and it was back.

Father's Day

Father's day is something very special. It is even more so , now that my dad has passed away. We grow up loving our dads so very much. I think this is more true for little girls. When we are small we love them deary, as we get older we try to please them, then we end up taking care of them. But this is what love is all about, " Making the Sacrifice". They made plenty of them for me.
As I have gotten older and lost both of my parents and my life has changed in other way, I realize that when you truly, truly love someone ......you put their happiness above your own and make those sacrifices.
My dad..........oh my. He was a piece of work. Hard when he needed to be, which was lots of times, but you just knew he loved you. He never told me growing up that he loved me. Think this is so hard on children, but I still knew. Then my mama passed away, this strong man I had known was lost, hurt, and depending on me. I took care of him and would do it all again . I loved him and this made his needs from me more important than my life. I knew it wouldn't be forever, so I gave him my all.
Not long after my mama died my daddy, out of the blue called and told me he was going to see a friend of his. This was a shock to me, since he was 82, but I was happy. He had heard from an ole high school sweetheart. They were so funny but I was happy he had someone. He was like a kid, had a new spark in life. I knew I had to make the sacrifice and get out of his way for whatever happiness he found, it was hard but .......I wanted it for him.
Sad but she got ill and he was alone again.
So the last 6 years of his life.......were also my life. Taking care of him was my pleasure. He knew I was here for him, that I would drop everything when he needed me.
So daddy..............I love you.............and was more than willing to make the sacrifice for you to be happy. He knew this because................he finally told me just how much he loved ME.

This was a special week end for John and lots of other people that grew up in the Minter City area. They have from a Minter City Group and had a mini reunion over the week end. This all started with dinner at the Crystal Saturday evening. There were so many memories to be shared you couldn't keep up with all the chat. It was a great evening and all that attended enjoyed themselves greatly. Sunday morning brought all out for breakfast at the Methodist Church followed by a short worship service.
The group was made up of student, teachers, and friends of those that attended school there in Minter City started in the year 1949 to 1958, then the school was closed and the students went on to different locations.
It was a nice crowd for the first get together. I believe about 45 people made it for the evening. Some came from a far away as New Jersey, but most were from within the state. Even being close they had lost contact and was great to go over old times and remember their younger days.
The ladies of the church provided everyone with a great breakfast meal, oh yea we cant forget the men that had great times gossiping while cooking the bacon and sausage.

In Montgomery visiting Linda. Trip has been fun so far. Millie and I drove over Saturday afternoon for a few days to visit with Linda. We have shopped, eaten , and talked wayyyyyyyyyy too much, but it has been fun. Tomorrow is Millies birthday so we will be having dinner together. The kids will come over also and that always makes for an interesting evening.
Thursday morning we hit the road home. Ill be ready to see John and maybe we can make a short road trip on the bikes. That all depends on how the crops are doing.
Will have to get home check on Oreo , mow the yard, and tend to the garden. Know there are snap bean ready to pick, and who knows I might even have a tomato ready to slice. Oh yea!!!!

Weather has for sure warmed up. But I'm enjoying it. The worse part is those little biting bugs we all love here in Mississippi.
At least it is riding weather. I did ride yesterday and might go out a while tomorrow.
Had lunch with Sydney , Ben , and Sam yesterday when they got out of church. That was nice and her little hands have healed nicely.

School has been out a week now...........report cards should have reached home by now. I'm sure some student were very surprised while others were sad. I hope all the kids enjoy there summer and come back in a few months ready to work and step it up a bit.
My first week has been busy. Keeping Sydney, hanging out with John, and doing the doctor thing. I got my knee injected yesterday to try and have a good summer with little pain. Dr. Bennett said it would take a few week to kick in but should last up to 8 months. So kind of new jell stuff he used, and of course a huge needle. It wasn't that bad......I have done it now so many times ....just close my eyes and hold my breath.
Last night a friend came over to help John work on my bike. Trying to stop the fuel over flow when it get hots. Well needless to say I was loading the bike on the lift when it and me went down to the concert. If you can believe it,, not even a scratch anywhere on my bike........yes not one. The only damage is the big bruise on my hip where I hit the ground.
Then today I rode over to see my sweet Sydney. Told her she needed a swimming pool her words to me were" Gammie we broke". Ben taught her to say that...........so of course, Gammie went right away and got her a pool. She and a few of her friends had a blast in the pool.
Tomorrow is a new day.................if the rain ever stops then we can ride. And Ill try very hard to keep the shiny side up this time.

Thursday went up to Cleveland to keep Sydney while Sam went to her nieces graduation. We had great fun except for her bath and trying to clean her burns. Don't think they hurt her that much now, but she is just so very scared for anyone to touch them. for that reason Thursday night wasn't very good, didn't know someone her size could be so strong. She held onto my neck with a death grip.
Her daddy love her so very much............you can just see it in how they play. He bought her a room size blow up jump castle, like the ones you rent. so nothing would do except for us to blow it up in the house last night so she could jump.
Today was much better for Sydney. Her bandages ( gloves as she calls them) started coming off again today. Instead of putting her through all that trauma I told her " Sydney take it off " So she pulled one off and we just put a big band aid on it. Then the other , we did the same thing. This technique worked great. So she told Gammie " I do it " , all day.
Home now waiting for Chirs to get in tonight. Love my grand baby so very much. She is a SWEETIE.

I finally saw the Silver City eagle. Yes, there is a pair of eagles that live in this area and he sits in an old dead tree right on the highway across from some fish ponds. And today coming home, there he was big as life a top the tree. I ran home got the camera and took some shots.
So Im posting one for all to see.

Ben and Sam took Sydney to the doctor this morning to have her hands checked. From what I understand they popped the blister and wrapped her little hands. She has to keep them dry and covered for at least 48 hours. They go back in the morning to have them checked and wrapped again. I still haven't seen her, but from what I get from Ben is she had several big blisters on each hand. Doesn't sound like it is one big blister.....hopefully this will help them heal and not scar.
My sweet baby....I wish I could take her pain for her.
School is over tomorrow.........for most of us that will be a great thing. Some that haven't done the work they needed over the year it will be a sad thing. Maybe we can start looking forward to next year and then the students will believe they need to do some work and complete task required. They will also be having several new teacher. of which I have heard they will not be easy. Thank goodness ...now I wont be the only teacher that gives hard test and expects thinking skills.
Pray for my baby.........I know God will touch her little hands and heal her.

Had to add this to my post tonight. Ben called a while ago to let me know Sydney had a little accident. She ran into the grill tonight and burned her hands. He said she has blister on both hands. Going to doctor tomorrow to see how bad it is. Pray for my sweet baby.

The end is here....or at least near. Started exams today...........looks as if some of the kids wont quite make it. This is the time they have to learn to be accountable ...long over due I might add.
I am so ready for a break.....maybe Ill win the lotto and be able to retire. Have a better chance to get hit by lightning. Oh well doesn't hope to wish.
If this crazy weather ever get right Ill be ready to ride. A member of the Harley club has figured out what is wrong with my bike..........so now think I can get it fixed. He even said he would work on it for me. Needed reflective high temp tape so John found it online and ordered it for me. Sweet man....
Had a little throat problem this morning..couldn't talk.....but it working out now. The privilege of living in Mississippi .sinus drainage.
The annual is finished and submitted to the plant. So any mistake we live with now. I had to do wayyyyyyy more work on this one than I wanted. Next years I'M going to only have about 7 member and they will do it all. If not it just will not be done.
My great niece graduated from Pillow this past Friday. She finished 4th in her class of 67...smart girl. This gave a chance for some of my family to get together. Linda came and we got to spend time with the girls.
I'm still thinking about taking off on my bike for a summer ride. Hope everyone has a great summer and be safe.

Tomorrow is FRIDAY.............yea. Only one more Friday , then exams and school will be out for the summer. Today school started with an adventure..or a heart attack , which ever way you choose to look at it. There was a HUGEEEEEEEEEEE rat in the teachers lounge, knowing this Coach Benny and Hal set me up to find out. Everyone at HA knows how much I HATE , I mean HATE rodents of any type. This creature was on top of the cabinets and I'M seating there in my quit time when I hear something.......oh BOY then I saw it out of the corner of my eye. My scream was heard far and wide.........BENNYYYYYYYYYYYYY. First time his name had 8 syllables. Took me about 2 hours for my heart to slow down. Then I spent the rest of the day on RAT watch.
Classes are going ok...kids want me to stop teaching but that isn't happening not until next week.

Yea the week end...........Thank God for Friday...........Hey thank God for lots of things. Today was such a good day.............for a teacher it is all about getting students to get it............the big picture. Today I think or maybe just hope, I hit a HOME RUN with one of my students. If I can make a difference with one kid a year........I'm a winner. Then one day down the road that student will come back and say " Ms Mac I get it and man were you right."
I almost have the annual finished, my staff didn't put as much into it this year as in years past, but it will be done in spite of it all. Only have 12 more pages of a 112 page book............so yes I'M excited. Think I have about 300 hours in this book, too bad I don't get paid for that. HA HA. I would do it anyway ......unless some one else out there wants the job.
For those of you that read my blog leave comments...like to hear your opinions. But if you know me, then you wont be surprised I'm not affected by it. But hey love then anyway.
My life is very simple..........my family, Taffy and Oreo, riding motorcycles, school, my kids there,and the outdoors. Life is good.... if everyone could just step back and see happiness is within you. How great that would be.
Love yourself, look around for the joy, and have peace. Pick your battles carefully.........never knew what that meant til now. Only took me 60 years to figure it out.

What's in a small town

The end of our school year is just around the corner. That give me thoughts of the future. We are loosing several teachers this year, and for us that could be a problem. Since I have been divorced ,there have been many times I have needed to and thought about going to public school. The fact is that in public school I could make 2 and 1/2 times what I make now. But I keep choosing to stay..........ask why? As I ride my motorcycle around our state, I see many small delta town with store windows boarded up, houses empty, and streets empty. I wonder why..........but it is so clear.........they have NO school. If you look at any community, when the school or hospital are closed the town Dies. So far here in our area we are lucky ....we still have both. People have moved from Belzoni and this area, but it has been due to the economy. Even with our lack of new jobs or industry we still have our SCHOOL.
So to me........this is why I stay. This is my home and it is up to me to help keep it alive. I love the kids....know most of the families......and it is after all my home. I just keep telling myself that as long as I can make it and pay my bills ...........I have to do my part.
I do understand why people make other choices.........heaven knows there are days I wish I could. But I stay..............I have to try to get that one child to learn all I have to give. We all say kids of today are different...............and YES they are....but their world is different.
I know if I expect more of them ............they will step up to the plate and achieve all they can.
You can look at our staff and see that is it made up of home town people..........there is a reason for this.......it is OUR SCHOOL and OUR COMMUNITY.
So yes......kids...........you will have to put up with mean Ole Ms Mac again next year.

The count down continues........only 15 teaching day with 3 days of exams...........then SUMMER.
Has been a nice week end. Rode my bike Friday and Saturday. Tilled my garden today , now have to mow the yard.
I pulled 2 fresh lettuce today and made a great salad for my lunch. Had fresh green onions and radishes also. Then topped it off with blackberries, strawberries, grapes, cheese, and a grilled chicken breast. Oh my, how good can it get. Only if the tomatoes were ready.Will have salads tomatoes soon.
We have several teachers not returning for next year. That is sad to me, but they have other agendas now. Wish each of them luck and hope their new adventures bring them happiness. You will all be missed. Our school is a very important part of this area , hope it keeps going for years to come.

What a great day....the weather was wonderful, school went well, kids worked hard, and I rode my bike to see Sydney. That little girl is a mess..........she is full speed and none stop. After a mere hour and half with her today Gammie was worn out. God did give babies to the young for a reason..........energy levels. He sure is wise.............
Only 18 more days of school..........have lots of work to do and no time to give the kids a break. For me the busier I keep them at the end , the easier my life will be. Lots less problems. So many activities at the end of school. Ending one year and thinking about another to come. Next year will bring new faces (teachers and student) and new experiences.
Hope all of you have a nice week end. Hopefully I will get to ride to the Festival in Helena. Music , food, and bikes.........will be a great day.

Friday night the wind really did some blowing. Here in Silver City the wind whirled and whistled with a force. The power went off about 4am. Then it sounded like I was being bombed with a pine cone storm. When the sun came up and I could see outside what a surprise I had. My grill had been blown across the porch and broken into several pieces. The yard was covered with pine cones, branches, and leaves. In my garden you cant tell the lettuce from the leaves that were stripped off the trees.
SO no doubt I got started picking up the mess. This took me a few hours and my yard is small. I got all the broken parts of the grill cleaned up.
SO decided I would go get a new grill. John took me to Memphis, we shopped around then got one at Home Depot. The man is so sweet, he put it together for me ; then brought it to my house in his truck this afternoon. We had to try it out, cooked beef kabobs, potatoes and rolls.
Now it is time to get really for another week at school. Only a few more to go til summer.
Weather is looking good for the upcoming week. Maybe finally a chance to ride some.

Easter is over. It was a really nice break from school. The week end went well, Chris came home, I went to church and Easter lunch at Johns, and today I have Sydney for a while.
Taffy is all well and she seems to be very happy to be home. I know I'm glad to have her back. Later today I have a meeting at Miss Delta C C and have to get Sydney home before that.
The sun is out and it seems like the rest of the week will be beautiful, at least until the week end. There are several events coming up that John and I would like to ride bike to, pray for sunshine.

Went up to Cleveland today to take Sydney her Easter happy from me. She has that old sinus stuff going around. It was fun to watch her opening her present. She got a felt Easter purse, rice crispy treats, sun shades, chocolate, outfit, and a bunny.
Started to get her some ducks but figured that would put me in the dog house for sure. One day Sydney , Gammie will get you some ducks.

Taffy is home and she tested totally free from heart worms this morning. I'm so glad to have her here and healthy. She wont miss another heart worm pill for sure. Then, I got out in my garden this afternoon tilled and planted. Not completely done but got it started. Looks as if Ill have to replant my corn. I did get the squash, cucumbers, peas, and beans planted. I'm having bad luck with my martin houses. For some reason they have started falling off the pole. The wires I used to hang them are coming untwisted. Ill get Chris to help me fix that problem this week end. Just hope the birds don't leave.

Easter will be here soon......that means church, bunnies, and egg hunts. Will be a nice week end. Chris is coming home tomorrow, Ill run up see Sydney and take her Easter happy to her, and go to church. Going to try and watch how much I eat over the week end. But in the south we all know holidays along with family.......always brings FOOD.
Two short weeks at school with the holidays. That is a blessing. Have lots of material to cover in my classes but we will get it done. Then finishing the annaul, really hope the staff will get their pages done. But it is their annual, so it is in their hands.

Went to pick up my motorcycle today........John came down and took me in his new truck. That thing is really nice........got lots of room. Now if I can get Taffy home next Wed. my life will be back to normal . Well as normal as it gets for me.
Have several things to look forward to. Finishing up the annual, have 2 no less than 2 four day weeks coming up, getting Who's who pictures done, Chris coming home next week end, and the END , oh god yes, the blessed end of this school year.
My classes are in for a busy 30 days. We have lots of material to cover and I plan on doing just that. These last few will be the busiest this year. School was good for me today....figured if I work hard these last days will fly by.
My class from high school will be having a reunion this summer in July. Got the info in the mail today.....boy it hit me that I had been out of high school 42 years. Hey at least my age gives me an excuse for anything.
Sure is nice to be happy when you get old.

Chris called and said he might come home next week end.....so that is great . we are on the major count down at school. 34 more days. Only about 30 teaching days , then exams and finishing up with work days. Tomorrow morning I have more pictures to take for school.......getting the team track picture and one for the Bank ad will finish me up for a while. This annual thing involves wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more work than anyone could possibly know.I probably spend about 10 hours a week at home working on all that has to be done. Even with that , I'm sure mistakes will slip by, but hey we are only human.
Putting all the work and time aside , it has been nice doing it online. Will be interesting to see the finished work that the kids have done. Along with the mistake that got by me. Hey but you live and learn............at least some of us do.
I'm going to try to get in about 3 more chapter in for all my classes before the end come. Need to try and expose the kids to all I can. They feel school is over already. Have to keep trying. Love those kids even when they drive me nuts.
Tomorrow is HUMP day..............that puts me on the down side of this week.
Catfish festival is on tap for this week end. Also hope I get some riding time in, sure will try.

Oh.......another crazy Monday. Started off running today. Getting ready for classes, teaching, taking tennis and baseball pictures, and the MDCC alumni meeting tonight. Oh were have the lazy days of summer gone..............please hurry back to me.
Only 35 more days of school for this year. Indeed they are going by swiftly, but not fast enough. Just let me finish the subject matter I have to cover, complete the annual, and get report cards out .
As for this rain..........April isn't even here and the showers are drowning the May flowers. Everyone , please pray for sun and warmer temps. Riding time is here and I have a garden to plant.

Do you ever have days when thing just start flooding your mind at warp speed. Today was one of those for me! I guess being with young people all day and seeing some of their behavior makes me have questions..............Do they really treat their parents and grandparents like that? Are all parent trying to be friends to their children? How do teachers get involved on a social or personal level with student? Where did the concept of manners go? What happened to being accountable for your action? Is personal pride dead?
Maybe I really am older than I thought. Parent is what we do ..........not who we are. Friends are your peers..........not your parents or teachers. Manner builds character it doesn't make you a nerd. Be prepared to take responsibility for your actions..............".if you do the crime .....do the time".........and when you make decisions at least be man enough to stand up and say "Yes I did that" If you do not have pride and confidence in yourself , you can be assured other will not either.
We need to parent, teach , and be accountable. Have morals( know right from wrong) , make your word your bond, and respect.

What wonderful weather. We did get to go on a bike ride. John, myself, and friends of ours rode to Louisiana. First we traveled down the east side of the state. One thing we did that John had never done was rode a ferry to cross over the river. The old live oaks, azaleas, and dogwoods tree were the most beautiful I have ever seen. The azaleas were huge, taller than the houses, and the colors were brilliant. Stayed in Homua LA the first night. Ate some good seafood. The next day John and I headed south to ride through the swamp and bayou country. Our friends headed home. We covered 84 miles of terrible roads. Still lots of damage from all the storms last year and before. We did see some big GATORS.......and miles of swamp grass. The sugar cane is starting to put on new growth. Making our way to Lake Charles, we move back north up the west side of the state. Spent the second night in De Ridder. After riding by so many crawfish farms John had to eat some. They serve crawfish everywhere. He ate 8 pounds of the mud bugs at a Bar B Q place. I had ribs.

Today we got up and traveled north through several National Forest area. Went to the old historic town of Natchitoches on the Cane River. It was a beautiful little city. Had lunch at a place there on the old cobblestone main street.

After filling ourselves we hit the interstate to make time coming home. We always stop at one of our favorite places in Delta LA called the WORLD. If you have never stopped there, which Im sure most people havent, you should one day. You can get a 16 oz ribeye steak for about $14. Now that is a deal. They also have an old time hamburger and fries for $4.50.

My spring great ended great with all the warm weather and getting to ride. Still cant bring Taffy home but she is doing well. I called today to check on her.

It is now 10PM Monday evening, I just made it in from Chris' house. I went down to go with him for a doctors appointment. Thank goodness he got a good report and no surgery is required now. He will go back in 2 months, just to be sure things aren't changing.
Got all my stuff out of the car and put up. When I left the other day ,of course it was raining, so now I have a new leak in my roof. I will try to see about getting this repaired in a few days when thing dry out. Weather is looking clear for the rest of this week .
Yes.............finally some riding weather is on the way. Tomorrow I'm going to get up, do my house work, then crank my bike and ride. Hopefully Im make it to a rally or something this week end before heading back to the class room. But I assure you I will ride.
Also have to work in a trip to go see my sweet Sydney. Checking on Taffy is also a must for in the morning.
Want to get some pine straw out in my flower beds and plant my corn in the garden. This all depends on how we dry out.

Rain.....Rain.....go away. Guess we all knew we would be starting our spring break up the weather woosssss. Lets just all pray it passses quickly. Every one have a safe spring break and all our HA student enjoy this time off. This school year will be over sooner than we all know, only 41 days left on my count down.
Taffy seems to be doing ok with her treatment, still keep praying for my baby dog.

Last week at school was very busy with all the events we had going. Those all went well and now we are finishing up exams. Then, tomorrow spring break begins..........boy am I ready for a break. Have a few things plan, once I get those done I might take off for Nashville for a few days. I always love getting away.
There are plans to go to Louisiana for a bike rally this week end. The events will be inside so we might ride anyway...........just bare the weather and rain for the ride. Hey "No guts No glory"
Taffy is at the vets for her heart worm treatments. I have been so very very sad and lonely. She has been with me every since I got divorced. Even when I would be out of town she always stayed with friends. My baby Taffy has never been away like this. If her treatment goes well it will be worth it. I sure miss her......
I put together a dish to cook for supper.....it is a chicken and rice dish. I love black beans so dumped those in also........dont know what Ill end up with but again "NO guts NO glory"

Today was my sweet grand baby's second birthday. We celebrated yesterday with a party at her house. Sam and Ben did a great job. All the Mickey Mouse stuff. Sidney is big into Disney now. she had a great day with family and friend old and young. I enjoyed it so much because we played out side most of the time. Sydney is like her Gammie there for sure.......we like to be outside.
Sydney got lots of good loot. DVD's, clothes, toys, shoes, ..etc. There was one minor problem..while we were outside over at Allen's, Sydney got a splinter in her finger. Hope her daddy got it out last night.
Was a wonderful day for her and her Gammie..............HAPPY BIRTHDAY my sweet angel.

As everyones know it was a cold week end in the south. To put a new twist on living in the south we had snow..........yes snow on the last day Feb. and carried over to the first day of March. This was the week end of the annual Ag Gin show in Memphis. This is really a fun time...seeing people you dont see all year.....getting together to eat....and topping the event off was a dance music by the Krackerjacks. Having the snow gave everyone an added thrill. I really enjoyed it........made me feel like a kid again. Told John I just wanted to plop down and make a snow angel.........but I restrained myself.
Have pics of the snow so everyone can see what we enjoyed. The snow on the hood of the car I took shows you just how deep it was and that was taken at noon today when melting had begun.

Had to add this picture of Sydney loving Taffy for Jennifer. She thinks it is the cutest thing.......of course so do I. My grand baby loves this little dog. She will call me on the phone and say "Gammie...Taffy.....my house....see me." That means for me to load up Taffy and go see her. Please pray for Taffy during her treatments in a few more days. That way Gammie nor Sydney will be broken hearted.

OH BOY......what a week end. We were given Friday off school due to the number of sick students and teacher. That was a very nice surprise. My Friday was good.........got up did somethings around my house, road up to spend sometime with Sydney , then went over to Johns. He wanted to go over to the new fish house and eat. So a group of us went over to eat. Also saw John's Aunt, Uncle, and cousin there. Then Sat. night he wanted to take me to Como to eat at the steakhouse there. A really nice place. OH went well until we headed home......then my stomach began to feel funny. Well to make along story short .we both ended up with food poisoning. OH MY GOD.....sick doesnt even begin to justify it.
We both thought it was the salad that made us sick, until Sunday evening we found out his Uncle and cousin had gotten food poisoning and ended up in the hospital from eating at the fish house.
But it is for sure one of those two places made several people really sick.
I fixed me something to eat tonight and right now my stomach isnt feeling so great. Hope I dont get sick again.
Maybe this is all over and next weekend will turn out better for John and myself. We are going Sat. to Memphis for the farm show. That will be fun........staying right across from the Peabody were the dance will be held. IM looking forward ..it is always fun being around and seeing all the people that go.

Today I took my Taffy to the Vet for her check up and shots. She has heart worms...........Im dying. She is my baby . Royanne said treatment was dangerous..........I have got to try to save my Taffy. Im am so very sad now....havent stopped crying for hours. Going to get a second opinion then will decided what to do. Pray for Taffy and my heartache.

I take it that everyone had a great Valentine's Day.........My week end was very full and fun. Friday night John and I went to 107 for dinner. Fred and Eva joined us there. Was nice to have time with John here and with friends.
Got up Saturday morning and I headed to Chris's by 7. Went down to see him for his birthday which was Thursday......he is 29. We hit the mall for a while, Sam's for fruit, and then the casino that night. Watch a movie when we got back to the apartment, of course I went to bed .....was tired.
This morning I left for home by 9. Stopped in Vicksburg for lunch and played a few slots. I made it home with time to work in the yard a while. Cleaned out my martin houses and put them back up on the poles fro the summer. Hope my birds return. Then I pruned my crape myrtles and did some chain sawing.
Monday morning and work will be here wayyyyyyyyy too soon. Amazing how short the week ends are and how long the weeks seem to be.

Been a while since I posted anything on here, dont think anyone reads it anyway. That is ok.......do it as my own journal. This past week end the weather was GREAT........so I was on my bike. John and I took off Sat morning about 10 and headed to the coast. He had heard of this place that biker went to eat so off we went. THE SHED.......is in Moss Point Ms. A great Bar B Q place .They have seating inside and out, bands play live music, and the food is nice. After filling up on Bar B Q we headed to our hotel. Up early Sunday and the temp was already warm in the 70's. We decided to ride Hwy 90 .......still lots of waste there...homes not rebuilt.....and sadness. Took Hwy 90 all the way to New Orleans.......this brought us in on the south side of the city through the swamp land. BOY....those people down there have had HELL. Cars still turned over in the swamps.....boats blown everywhere..........and Pier after Pier with no house. We hit I 12 north to Sliddell.....hoped the Harley place would be open but no luck. Had been telling John all I wanted to do was eat seafood, but as time was passing just settled on doing that next trip. When we hit Sliddell.he took the road toward Hammond. And for those of you that dont know that is where MIDDENDORF'S seafood Restaurant is located. Now it is about 12:30 but he said we were going. He had never eaten there and said by damn he was going to go once. Got there and the place was packed.....was a 45 minute wait. But we did and he enjoyed it. Of course I loved it. Had a great broiled flounder, John enjoyed the seafood platter. We got back on our bikes at 3:00........still a ways from home. WE hit the interstate and had a great ride , pulled up at my house at 6:15. That is a record time.........So needless to say the week end was fun and the weather was wonderful.

Got to see my new little great nephew this week end. I went over to Montgomery with my nieces to see our new little Jackson. Yes , I am a Great Aunt again , but I love it. Guess this is a McIntyre child that will not look like a McIntyre. This little fellow looks like his mothers side of the family. He is baby Philley. Jackson really does favor Rebeca's dad.
we had such a great time. Got to have a fun visit, ate some great food, did a little shopping and best of all played with the baby.
Linda got her bottle tree up, now all she has to do is fill it with bottle to catch all the spirits.
Tomorrow is back top school. Only good thing about going back is will be sooner to get out.

School is back in session.......we are trying to get all the kids back into the school mode. Most student did well this last semester, but some need to buckle down and work hard. I will take a little different approach this semester. Im going to have my student do more of their own reading, note taking, and learning new vocabulary.
Now we have 87 more days in this year ,so all the students have time to reach those grades they really want.
Basketball is also in full swing. Having so many games each week puts a lot of strain on the kids grades, now they have to step up and put in the extra study time.
Schedule, schedule, schedule is the answer for all students. Learning how to use the time they have is very important, this is a skill most of them do not have.
I am looking forward to seeing all the grades for each child improve..............you can do it! !

Day 3 of the new year. The year started off great . John and I were in Greenwood for the occasion. We went by Mary Haley and Henry for a while to see all the kids. Innes and family, Millie and family, also Mandy and boys were there. That was great to see them since we past up on Thanksgiving this year. Leaving there we went to Flatland for a bite of dinner. After getting all dressed up to see the new year in we caught the shuttle over to the Alluivan for the party. If was a really fun night. The band was great and played non stop . Food was nice , and at midnight they put out mini hamburgers and fries.
We shared a table with Harry Ray Tribble and his wife, along with a couple from Decatur Ala. It was a fun group.
Next morning we went to Mama Smiths for they new years dinner.........all the trimmings. Patti even made pecan pies.
Friday morning Betty Jane and Joe along with their riding buddies left out for Florida. They will be heading home next weekend. Hope it isnt too cold...
Decided it was time for John to have peace and quite; so I came home to get wash done and ready for school Monday.......
Only 89 more days of school for this year. In a few weeks Millie and I are heading for Montgomery to see Mini Mc.
