HAPPY NEW YEAR to all. This year is almost over. It has been a good year....it was a year that gave us many new things. A new president will be taking over in a few weeks, an economy that has hurt us all, price of gas have fallen, and today I welcome a new GREAT nephew, Jackson Boyd, arrived this afternoon. He came a few weeks early but we welcome him with loving arms. He weighted only 5 pounds 4 oz. Mini Mc will grow quickly and be as big as his dad (Jeff) soon. So his nick name really does suit him..........WELCOME MINI MC....
Today my sweet Sydney fell and broke her tooth, thank goodness it was in the back. Tomorrow I will see the new year come in...............good bye "father time" and welcome to the "new year baby"
Have a lot to look forward to in 2009...........good health, loving family, my sweet angel 'Sydney ', John, and of course turning 60.
So be happy, healthy, and thank God for all your blessings............see you in 2009.

MERRY CHRISTMAS......to all. Wishing you all the best in this time of family and giving. Hope all of you will have as much JOY at this time as I do. Love to all ......especially all my family.

HAPPY NEW YEAR........

The season of family and joy is here. With all my years.....I have found that the younger generation has a different look on life. They seem to think that life is all about what they can have, material thing they can buy , and how much money they have.
To me family is the meaning of love. I dont mean what you will get from them, what can they do for me, or how much will you gain. The acts of love, kindness and enjoyment of doing for others , or giving is what love is all about. I would drop anything in my life to give or do for my family. If a person does something for others only looking into the furture as to how they will gain, that is not love. This is the time of our Christ........how would he look at people today............It seems that this age is all about "me"...........what can I have, or what will I gain. How can someone like this feel they are a child of Christ. I just dont believe Christ intent was on what he would gain, but on how and what could he do for others.
People are so transparent......trying to live what they feel is a Christain life, but do they live a CHRIST like life. No they are selfish.
You family is all you have, give of yourself and time. Spend time with them , help them , just be there.
The time will come when you will look back and have regrets...........those gift, material things, money .............that stuff is nothing. Take the time to lean a hand..........be there....love.....
Having the best of everything is having love, family and happiness.
I just wish I had the chance to go the store for my mother again or run the vacuum for my Daddy again. You cant take things with you ........but regrets last forever.
Just remember that your actions say alot. Just saying you love your family and how important they are........all that doesnt prove anything. You have to be there, stand for something. Dont be fake , be true to your word.
Merry CHRISTmas.............

We are 9 days into the month of December. Christmas will be here before we know it. I am looking forward to the holidays this year. First time in about 9 years. Im so excited to get to see Sydney when she wakes to here Santa stuff. Oh yea.........my camera and recorder will be getting a work out that day. Many memories for Gammie.....That little girl make it all worth it for me. Give me those days back of when my boys were her age, and how excited I got to see their little faces.
Will be wonderful to get to be with Ben and Chris also. I love my boys ........and Im so very proud of them and the men they have become.
Hope it snows somewhere close by during the holiday, if so Im going. Want to make a snow angel and a snowman.
Plan to see as much of my family as I can during the holidays, and spend time with John when he isnt busy with his family.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL. From my family to yours.

Guess Im ready to get back to school...sooner we go back sooner the year will be over.
Think IM going on a short trip during Xmas break. I want to see some snow. This will be a car trip ....no motorcycle to see snow.
Later........Wish every one a great week.

Today, Im the ripe old age of 59........had a good day. Johns sister, Betty Jane, made me a birthday cake this morning , we all got together and ate cake before 9 this morning.....They had cards and presents for me. Was very nice and I was surprised. Then, Chris and Becky came home and took me out to eat. Ben forgot it was my birthday. OH WEll....
Tomorrow Ill go up for another Thanksgiving meal at Mrs. Smith house. Monday Ill go back on my diet , boy do I need it.
This coming week will only be a 4 day week at school. The state MPSA meeting is Friday so school will be out. Basketball is also in full swing. I have to work a game Thursday night.
It has been a nice holiday I just hate to see it end so soon. Life goes on and so does school. Have to get back in the groove for a few weeks til Christmas.

This was a great Thanksgiving. I had the most important people here with me; Chris, Ben, Sam , my Sydney, and John. The rest of my family was here with me in my heart. I missed them but carry them with me always.
The weather was so nice, Sydney got to play outside and take a ride on the 4 wheeler with her daddy.
Our dinner turned out great......all ate way too much.
Chris was here with his cat Zeek.....which Sydney loves. I had put up the tree and had the lights already on it. So the big event of our day was to let her put the ornaments on the tree. This was such great fun.......she would get an ornament out of the box and just cram it up in the tree branches. It was a trip.. I laughed so hard . And of course she wanted to play ball with all the round ornaments. None were broken... at that time at least. I broke one after everyone left and I was cleaning up. Wouldnt you know .
I have this one ornament that is a motorcycle.......Sydney took it out of the box, put it on the floor, and sat over it like she was riding it. Oh my GOSH..did we laugh.
Then Uncle Chris got his 4 wheeler out and her daddy took her for a ride. It was a perfect day
I love my family..........the ones here with me and the ones that were with their own families. Each one hold a special place in my heart and in my life.

I was tagged by Jennifer to post 6 important things about myself. Well Jennifer that is a big request........dont feel that I have 6 interesting thing to tell.

1. My family is the most important thing to me. My boys, Sam, Sydney they are my world. God and family are the reasons to life. I have a wonderful family.....The YA YA's, My great nieces, and all their families............I would do anything...anything for my family.

2. Life is adventure.........I want to live it. Riding my bike is a passion that only another bike rider would understand.

3. Even though I dont do it much anymore.....I enjoy cooking.

4. I plan to visit every state.... this is on my BUCKET LIST. I love to travel.........no one has to ask me twice if I want to go.

5. Had planned to become a physical therapist and even was accepted to Texas Women University. That would have led me down many different roads.

6. I am a very tender and giving person.....but I work very hard to cover it up.

Nothing very interesting but I did respond to your tag Jennifer.
Had a great visit with Linda over the week end. We shopped, had dinner with JENNY, MATT , AND LITTLE MATT. That was great fun. Went to church Sunday morning. Then shopped a Little more. Linda gave me some beautiful earrings for my birthday. Then headed home to see John and get ready for Thanksgiving. John is home.............yea. Went up to see him last night after driving home from Linda's.He had cooked stew for everyone and we looked at all the photos he and Joe made on the trip. Was lots of fun.
Then today, I shopped for Thanksgiving dinner, mowed my yard, and cleaned house. Boy ...Im tired. Put up my Xmas tree ,so Sydney can put ornaments on Thursday while she is here.
Will start cooking in the morning and go for therapy. Chris will be home tomorrow evening sometime.
John will be up to eat dinner with us...........that will be great. Still seems strange not going to Mary Haleys, but Im having all the people important to me here. My boys, Sam , Sydney and John.........so that makes my Thanksgiving perfect.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.........Hope you will have your loved ones with you like me. Give thanks for all your blessing and enjoy your family. That is really the only important thing we have. For those of my family not with me today .............I love and miss you all.

Thursday, November 20, 2008

YEA..............finally it is almost FRIDAY. Tomorrow we get a break.......THANKSGIVING.....and Im so ready. I am looking forward to a nice holiday, good food, and time with my family. Went to see Sydney the other day. She is growing so fast. Cant wait to see her Christmas morning this year. We are going to put my tree up before Thanksgiving so she can see it.
Hope all will give thanks for all your blessings, love your family, and have a safe holiday.
Until next time

This was a great day. I got up and rode over to Vicksburg. Went across the river to LA to get a lottery ticket. I always say you cant win if you dont play. Had lunch and went to the outlet mall. That was a mistake, in the Carter's children store they were having a good sale. 70, 60, and 50 % lost of winter things. Oh my goodness......the grandmother came out in me. Got Sidney several darling things.
On the ride I had the camera with me, so took some shots of the foliage.
Hope everyone has a good week. This will be the last week before Thanksgiving break. The boys, Sam, and Sidney will be here for Thanksgiving day. Im planning to go see Linda for a few days before Thanksgiving.
John called and they are almost into L.A..They are going to Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood see the sites there, then head on to Arizona. He is talking about getting home the Wed. before Thanksgiving. BY time they get home would have ridden over 6000 miles. BOY.... that is the trip of a lifetime.
Leave me a comment.......

THANK GOODNESS ...it is Friday. Think IM counting the days more so than the students. One more week and we will be out for Thanksgiving. This year will be very strange for me. WE wont have our get together at Mary Haley's, John is on his bike trip, and who knows what Ben will do. Really looking forward to Chris coming home. It will be a nice holiday no matter. Im thinking of going over to see Lindas for a few days when I get out. Might go on a short bike trip also. Just looking forward to time off......to just chill out or whatever.
Today was a good day since Mama Smith is ok and didnt have to go to the hospital. I was worried about her for a while. Then Betty Jane called to let me know ,all was ok for now and I didnt need to go up to stay with Pattie and Mary Rose. She will call if she needs me.
John and Joe seem to be having a great time. IM so excited for them, getting to see all the new things they have experienced. SURE wish I was with them though..... Ill take my trip this summer when school is out. Thinking about riding out west....but will have to go it alone. They will all be farming.

UPDATE....John called about 5 my time, they had just crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and were standing at Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco. They were looking out over the water at the prison I asked him if they were going out there to get a room. Were going to head on south toward LA before stopping for the night. He sounded excited....know he is enjoying himself.
Enjoy your week end...........

This was a great week end. For most of you that know me, know the most important people in this world to me are my son's, Sydney, Sam, Linda and Lou Lou, the girls, and John. I got to spend the week end with all but Ben , Sydney, Chris and John. Did get to have a short visit with Chris Thursday night. We had a girls week end to give Becka a baby shower. It was wonderful. Friday night several of us went out for dinner to PF Chang's. Then, Saturday morning we all gathered up , headed for Mistletoe Market Place to stop til we dropped. Had lunch at Pepper , then split up to do our own thing for a while. Most of the girl shopped at the Renaissance ,but Lou Lou and I went to get Sydney a few things. And of course, we had to watch the Alabama / LSU game since Mary Ann and Nance are true TIDE rollers. Bama did end up pulling it out in overtime. Sat night was set up for BECKA and getting ready for MINI Mc. We ended up with a group of 17 for the shower. Becka's Mom , Grandmother, Aunt and other family members joined us ( the McIntyre side) at Bon Ami. There we had dinner , fellowship, and opened the loot Becka and Jeff got. They did good! ! !
Oh my....then the fun started. At the hotel all came together in Linda's room to wind down the night. No surprise to us, Millie was full of herself as she put on a pair or Lou lou's glasses, with hair up in a clippy ,then gave us her version of SARAH PALIN...........oh my gosh did we laugh.
The YA YA girls had to model the T shirt John got for us in Alabama on the way home from the Neil Diamond concert. As the T shirts say "Dance, party, sing....it's a YA YA thing" For sometime now Linda, Lou Lou, and myself have called ourselves the YA YA girls , this makes the T shirts very suitable.
Sunday morning all the McIntyres relatives joined for breakfast at some Java place for breakfast and to say our good byes. Each of us then got in our cars and went our separate way til next time.
I love my family , enjoy and Cherish anytime I get to spend with them. Love you girls til we meet again.

The elections are over..............the outcome is what it is. Only time will tell Americans if they made a good choice. For me, I am very concerned. I believe the new young voters will be in for many disappointment. I just hope that God takes our country into his hands, holds us and guides us.
This week at school is almost over. It has been uneventful so far.
Hope all of you are having a nice week.
More later.

Our trip to Orlando was great. We left Sat. travel to Demopolis Al and stopped off at the Bama Bike Fest . That was a real experience.............Then went on to spend the night at Linda's house. Was great getting to have a short visit with her. Of course the weather turned COLD.......every time I ride my bike to Florida it turns cold. Record cold TEMPS all over the state. We took our time getting to Orlando making a few fun stops. Stopped at an old bar hang out of the "Ma Barker gang". Made it into Orlando with no problems and right to our hotel and checked in. After getting some supper we hit the sack. The next Monday went to Universal Studios. Did a few of the shows there , walked around , and got ready for the concert. That was the whole purpose for the trip. This was a dream come true for John. He has wanted to see Neil Diamond for quite a while. This was his birthday present to himself, and he was sweet enough to share it with me. We had the greatest seats. On the 8th row center stage. The man put on a great show. Sang for a good 2 hours and he is a great performer. Took our time coming home. Road along the coast line for a good part of the trip. Once we reached Mobile hit the interstate and ran it on in. Betty Jane was sweet enough to bring Taffy home for me. Now John is getting ready to head out for California on his bike Wed. He and Joe will be leaving early Wed. They will be gone about 3 weeks.
Will add more later.

Week almost over............TGIF.........had a good week at school. Have been busy getting all the work ready for my sub. Only have one more thing to run off tomorrow and put in the correct folder. The sub came by today and we went over everything. SO IM SET....Had to go by the doctors today and get a shot for sinus. So got that and some meds to take with me. Also they are setting up an MRI for me. Gota get my neck checked out and see why IM having all this neck pain and the tingling down my spine and legs when I look down. Sure it all goes back to when I fell at school and got a whip lash. Shan, the nurse, thinks it might be nerve or disk damage.....that wont be good at all. Just going to hope it can be treated with meds.Surgery is not on my list right now.
Have my bike all cleaned up , clothes laid out, and money . So soon as I throw some things in a bag and on the bike Ill be out of here Sat morning for Orlando. Think Ill enjoy this break from school. Going to stop in Folkland Al at a bike rally Sat. Then head out Sun. for Florida.
As for the weight thing..at a major stand still right now. Have lost 26 or 27 pounds, just cant get going on the other 20. But Im not giving up.
Will post when I get home and have pictures of the trip. Neil Diamond will be great....

Time is flying by this year. Halloween is just around the corner. I went into Wal Mart this week end and they already have up Christmas stuff. That is rushing it a bit.....Let's get the Halloween candy off the shelves first guys...............
Next week is our trip to Orlando for the concert. John worked on making a piece for my motorcycle this week end to put on my luagge rack. As I figured he did a great job and it works like a top......so now my trunk is on the bike and IM ready to go!!!!! If the weather doesnt hold we will go in the car. Let's pray we get to ride...........Also got on line last night and found rooms only a mile from the arena where the concert will be taking place......got those booked. I have been hoping we would get to go to some of the parks down there, but John showed no interest in that when I mentioned it. So guess that will be another trip for me to take alone. Might fly down there during Thanksgiving break while he is on the ride to California.
Have lots to do this week getting all my school plans done and then getting clothes ready.........will get it done.
Have a nice week ...

Last Thursday was Ben's 31st birthday, so I went to Cleveland and a group of us went out to eat Mexican. It was great fun and of course ,Sydney was the life of the party. But you must remember she is Ben McIntyre's daughter , so she got it in her genes. Sydney buried her face in the cake, dances with the Mexican band, and ate plenty of junk food. She was one little wired baby girl.
Then Friday was half a day of school. I came home called Linda , then took off on my bike to visit her for the week end. Was really a nice ride. Sunday coming home was cool with the clouds but I enjoyed it. Best part was being able to make the trip on 35 dollars worth of gas.
Now Im back to the real world and teaching. Week will go by fast.
In 2 weeks IM going to Orlando for a Neil Diamond concert. Plans are to ride bikes down , but if the weather changes we will just go in my car. I think everyone of my age group loves Neil Diamond . Would love to get in a day at Disney too....Taking a week off school so might as well have fun.......
Going to post pictures from the party so enjoy and leave me a comment.

What can I say...............this was a day of all days. It was soooo busy.......gave exams..........annual rep came.........graded papers.........then had a situation to deal with.
Hope tomorrow will be better. It rain around Belzoni today. So far I havent had any at my house. Does keep John from finishing his last beans this week.
I just hope the weather holds over the week end so I can ride. I need some down time and riding gives me that.
Looking for a better day...later
Had to add a picture of my sweet baby, just to cheer up my day.

Monday, October 6, 2008

This is exam week at school. Was a busy day . Had to get all my exams made out and run off ready for the kids. Im ready , just hope the students will study. My exams are legendary...........long and hard. This help the kids in my book, give then a chance of having at least a few types of question they do well with. Also it makes each question not count so much. as for grading...........well for me I just as soon grade 120 questions as 50.
I do think the seventh graders are in for a big shock. They do not have a clue what to expect. GO study kids...........you'll need it.
The week end was nice............I rode my bike all day Saturday and most of Sunday. John and I went to a get together in Cleveland for the guy from there that got killed on his motorcycle. John knows all those people.
This week is Ben's birthday so will go have dinner with them Thursday. He will be 31. He thinks that is old.

Well I dont really think anyone reads my blog, but I keep it up just for me. Gives me a place to vent and express.
If anyone out there does keep up with this, you know I have been on a diet. As of this morning I have lost 22 pounds. So hopefully in several more weeks I hope to have lost my other 18 pounds to make it 40 altogether. If I reach that goal might just shoot for 10 more. None the less I am happy with what I have been able to do , no doubt it is hard.
School is going well. Just the same ole silly issues. My classes are fine; 8th grade likes to talk too much , 7th grade still doesnt get it, and 11th grade thinks that studying does not pertain to them. SHOCK will come to them soon. Next week is exams. Had a slight change in schedule due to a Jr high football playoff. This means the 8th grade will have my earth science and health exams the same day............poor babies.
Hope everyone is looking forward to the week end as much as I am. Enjoy and will pos tmore later.

Wednesday, October 1, 2008

Another week is half over.........we approach the end of the first 9 week term. Next week will be exams .....Im not sure the students are working as they should. All we can do is present the information and try our best to keep them on task. BOY what a job! ! ! Also, today we fiinally got our computer lab online..........that is great not only for those classes but also for my annual staff. Get those pages done kids.
After exams ,we will sale annual ads and the annuals. Before we know it the holidays will be here and the new year will be underway.
This weather has been wonderful.......only problems is IM working and not riding. But I plan on doing just that this week end and next if the weather will hold. I might try to ride back up in Tenn. to see the foliage.
Fall is a great time of the year..............colors of the spectrum are seen everywhere. Cotton covers the fields like new fallen snow with deer dotting the edges of harvested land. Im using a picture of cotton off Jennifers blog. She had this great pic.
Enjoy this while it last.........

Home from Nashville.....had a great visit with Martha Lou, Ripper, Rip, Rob, Bonnie and of course the kids ( Will and Lynlee). She is a beautiful baby. And Will is a charmer for sure. They have a beautiful new home. It was great fun getting to see them all.
On the way home today I stop in "Smithville" to see John for a short while, then rode over to see my Sydney. I had gotten her some Frog cookie and a tu tu. Also bought her some great new clothes for next summer. They will be for her birthday. Two of them are really nice dresses, maybe she can wear one for Easter. When I got ready to leave Sydney had a fit....crying and I couldnt stand that. Told Ben I would drive her out to church, when she got in the car I figured out why she was crying. She started saying Taffy, cat , Taffy, cat........she wanted me to take her home to see Taffy. Ill go get her one day soon to come see Taffy.
Was a week end from heaven as far as the weather goes. The leaves have started to turn up around Nashville so if this weather holds Im going to ride my bike back up there in a few weeks.
Have a nice week everyone.

This week was better than last at school.thing have calmed down greatly from Homecoming. Only one more teaching week then, 9 weeks Exams. Boy! will that be a surprise for some of these kids. Better study kids.........
Went Monday for my weigh in....have lost 20 pounds. Got 20 more to go , just dont seem to be getting there. Guess I just need to eat less and work more.
Went to see John last night. Havent seen him in a few weeks......he has been in the field and I have been doing stuff. But we had a nice visit. Soon they will be done with the harvest and we can get back to normal also.
Have a great week end to all.

Sunday, September 21, 2008

Was a wonderful day. The weather has been so great the past few days.........and the best part is NO rain. That makes life in the farming delta wonderful. Chris has been home for a few day, I have really enjoyed him. Today was Sam's birthday, so we went up for church and lunch with them. Always nice to spend time with my kids. And of course to see my sweet Sydney is the best. A new week at school starts in the morning, now it will be time to get back to business. Hope everyone has a nice week......

Saturday, September 20, 2008

Sydney enjoyed watching and playing at the homecoming game last night. Think this was a new experience for her. She had fun and I enjoyed chasing her around the field. She was so cute....her little blue jeans were too big...........she would run and they would slip down.....she would stop and try to pull them up. Can you believe the one time I didnt have my camera in my hand.
It was great to have Chris, Ben ,Sam , and Sydney with me for a while last night. Chris is home for the week end so we are having a great visit. Think he is staying til Monday.
Then next week end IM going to Nashville to see my new little great cousin niece Lynlee. She made her way into the world Monday, which was also my daddy's birthday. That was special.
Later ....leave me a comment

TGIF.....it is finally here. Homecoming tomorrow and then the weekend. Has been a very busy and sometime hectic week. Getting out at noon tomorrow will be greatly welcomed. Try to make the game tomorrow evening to take pics for the annual. Just hope the rain hold off.
Chris is coming home tonight....will be in later. It is my bed time, so will get some sleep when this post is done.
Im looking forward to getting back to normal school next week.
Hope all have a great weekend.

HUMP DAY.........thank goodness. Homecoming week is almost over..........like the Beatles said " LET IT BE". Today was PJ day....I think some of my JR high kids got out of bed....got in the car and didnt even brush their hair. They played the PJ part today. Slept most of the day. NO hope for tomorrow "Disney Day" they will be in a fairy land all day, because they just dont want to grow UP. That is ok for some of them but time for others to grow up a little at least.
You know......I have ask myself many time why do I teach school. Many reason come to mind like......I love the kids........they keep me young......I like to see how they grow.........but today the real reason was right before my eyes. I caught Henry reading a book......you would have to know Henry to understand. It was such an accompishment I took a pic of it to have proof. He wont mind I told this, because he told me himself....I hate to read but this book has me Ms Mac. Now..I told him ,Henry, that is great...glad u have a book you love. Ask what it was about .......of course it was FOOTBALL a guy had traveled to all the SEC football field. ( I think) But you know doesnt matter, Henry was reading it with great interest........so that is GREAT. You go HENRY....
For tomorrow guess Ill have to pass on dressing up.........dont have any Disney gear. Think Ill just play the part of the wicked witch tomorrow..........that is a role I know well. I love my kids and they love me............except on test day
later..........

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

This week at school is spirit week..........meaning that each day is a different dress up day, all this goes along with homecoming week. Just part of the activities. That makes my week more interesting, because I am busy trying to teach as well as do pictures for the annual. So far, we have had color war day and today was camo day. A lot of the student are taking part, showing school spirit. Tomorrow is PJ day............I have been trying to dress up each day, but think tomorrow Ill pass............but who knows what will happen in the morning when I get dressed. The week will end with a morning presentation of the homecoming court. Friday night will be the homecoming events before the game.............GO REBELS........looking for a win for sure.
With Chris coming home we will probably go to the game, and Ill take pictures of course.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

Today was a happy day as well as a sad day. Today we welcomed a new member to our family. Rob and Bonnie gave birth to their second child today "Lynlee Merrill Nance" she is welcomed by her parent, grandparents, and big brother, Will.
Then it was also my daddy's birthday. I do miss him.........still seems like I should be going by to check on him. I hardly go by the house I grew up in ....now he is gone.
It was the birthday of other important people to me...Lawson and Becky . SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you"ll.
I am loving this cool weather the storm has brought us. Still am working hard on my diet. Think as of now I have lost about 17 pounds. Cant cheat...........gota hit my 40 pound mark.
Have a wonderful week to all that read my blog............write me a comment.

Weekend went by way too fast. Seems we made it through the storm . But I do have one problem.....a roof leak. Ill call my insurance tomorrow and see. Had wind and rain.....so who knows what is up there.
Also went to see my pericous Sydney. She is the light of my life and the heart of my heart. She is such a smart beautiful child.
Saw John and his family......was really a nice week end.
Want to share some new pictures of my sweet Sydney. Wish every one a great week. It will be busy with homecoming.

Has been a really busy week at school. I have been trying to get things set up for us to begin working on the annual. This year we have opted to do it online.........have no clue what IM doing. Just hope the kids can figure it out. I have gotten all my staff members set up with login names. Also have gotten us a new camera..great Canon digital Rebel xsi 12 megapix. Will be more than what we could ever use. The past few night I have been uploading pictures to our year book site .
Next week will be homecoming for Humphreys Academy. This is always a busy and fun week. Lots of pictures for me to take and upload. Chris is also coming home for Becky's birthday. I will get to spend time with him again.
Hope the weather holds and maybe Ill get to ride some over the next few days.

As you all know this is 9-11.......seven years after our country's worth event in history .
Keep all the families of the lost one in your hearts. And let's never forget ........

This was a great day......weather was totally wonderful. Chris was here, Becky came down to see us last night, then today John came so we could ride. We rode down to Natchez , then over into LA , to check out the damage from the hurricane. Most of what we saw was down trees and wet land. Think we covered about 375 miles today. If you have ever ridden a bike you know today was the perfect day for a motorcycle ride.
Time is really passing quickly. Starting our fifth week of school already. Classes are going ok....no behavior problems, but I dont have those anyway. Got a lot of material to cover with the 7th grade. They will do fine.............just takes time to adjust.
My cousin Rip stopped by today with Jeffery. Was nice to finally met him.
Tomorrow Ill be going to Jackson for my weigh in. Think I have lost a few more pounds this past 2 weeks.
Later..............Have a wonderful week.

Friday, September 5, 2008

With this being Friday...........like all other teachers IM looking forward to the week end. Chris is coming home to have a break form all the problems caused by the hurricane and ,of course, to get mama to do wash. That is ok.....I dont mind.
With this Friday also came some disappointment..........they cancelled Tim McGraw's Swampstock........IM sad. Oh well, guess Ill have to look for something else to do next week end. If it stays this cool and John is in the field I might just go camping. If he isnt working maybe we will ride.
Has been a good week....hope everyone had a nice work week.
Til next time

The week end was nice. Had a great visit with Linda, Jenny, Becka, and Jeff.......oh yea and lets dont forget little Matt. That boy is so sweet and way too pretty .........
Got home Monday about 1...wanted to make it back before the rain came. And then of course we all waited out the storm. Chirs was in the eye of the hurricane for a while last night, but he made it. No power, No sewage, and no water to drink but he will survive. Place around him are getting power so maybe tomorrow he will also.
This rain has GOT to STOP, so all out there use your power to stop the rain.
Short week at school so that will make my week nice. Next week end Sept the 13th Becky and I are going to Rayville LA for Tim McGraw's Swamp Stock homecoming. I went years ago and just wanted to go again. It will be a BLAST.........
Hope all have weathered the storm ok and have a great week. Later

Labor day week end is here...........will have Monday off. John is busy farming so IM going to see Linda. Probably go Sat morning. Thinking about going to Swamp Stomp this year........went years ago and had a blast. Becky said she would like to go...........know she has never been to anything like that so we might just go. Nothing like Tim McGraw for night out.
Wish everyone a great LABOR DAY..........

Sunday, August 24, 2008

I went to see Chris Sat. Spent the night with him and we really had a great time and a good visit. We rode out to one of the casinos there.......played a few slots....saw a movie in their theater.....got a bite to eat .and of course stopped at Wal Mart. This morning I got up early of course...thanks to Zeeks help. So figured I would take out the trash and get the wash started for Chris.
The trip home was fine..made a few stops...got Sydney some things at Carter's. The storm has set in over Mississippi at least over my part..................fallin' a flood here ( As Patty and Rosie would say).
Maybe this week the weather will clear up.............needs to stop this raining now.

Into another week of school.........things are going fine. I dont have many classroom problems ,because I believe in keeping the class busy. A busy child is a constructive student.
I broke down this week end and bought a new laptop computer. Tomorrow Ill be entering the age of high speed. Im getting DSL. Oh my what will I do.
Will be a new look at cyber space for me. Will be able to do more things and even watch moive on netflix. Boy Ill love that.
John and I are still working hard on our diet. I think I have lost about 11 pounds....hoping for more by Monday at the weigh in.
More later .going to post a new picture of Sydney. Went to see her the other day and took some shots. Her daddy is training her to call ducks and praise the "lord". She is a real ham and loves to show off her new tricks.

Friday, August 15, 2008

The first week of school is over........I made it. Classses went well.Think this year will be fine. My 8th grade class does like to talk way too much ,but think we will have that worked out soon. Looking forward to the week end. This is the week end of the Sturgis Mississippi rally. If the rain holds Ill ride up there if not .........well no plans.
Hope everyone has a great week end............later

This week is almost over but lots has happened. School is starting, tomorrow the kids come for half a day. John , Joe, Betty Jane and myself decided last week to take off on a ride for a few days. I was so excited to get away...think they were also. So, Friday morning we loaded up and headed north........north of Mississippi that is. We were looking for anywhere that was cooler than 105...........John checked the weather and saw the best temps were in TN and NC. He has been wanted to go up there and ride the Dragon Tail for a while now. For those of you that dont know of the "Dragon" it is a road with 318 curve with steep incline mountians over a short 11 miles. You can do the math and see it is continous curves and rolls. At the end we got T shirt to say we rode the Dragon and survived........believe that is not an easy thing.
Then we rode some more great mountain roads, stopped at this gorge ,and headed home.........As soon as we came down into GA......the heat was on again.
We had many good laughs .....most of them at my expense. John and Joe give me a lots of mess, they love to pick on me. Enjoyed riding my new bike...got a few little things to get worked out , but had lots of power and seat was comfortable.
I had to go back to work this week.......have gotten all my stuff ready for the kids tomorrow.

So it looks like we will be off tomorrow.......going on a last before school ride. Think we will be heading out in the morning to ride into Tennessee. Have checked the weather there and high temps will be in the upper 80's........which is a hell of a lot better than 100's. Will go into the area of Gatlinburg........love the mountains. Anytime I can get up in elevation ........I love it. Once we get up there the pleasure to just ride through the mountains and site see as we go.......no set plans. That is what I like.........just go....ride.....see........
This will also give me a chance to really see what my new bike will do on a trip.
Hope this will be a great day for all. Leave a comment if you like

Here are pictures of the new bike as promised.Still have to get my highway bars and luggage rack put on when they come in, hope that will be tomorrow. Our little group is going to try to have a short ride before I start school next week. But it depends on the rain.........hope we get one so we can ride.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

Well........today I went completely crazy I guess........I bought a new motorcycle. Yes , that is right ....a new motorcycle. I got a Yamaha 1700 Road Star Silverado. It is a two tone Silver and Blue.....a really good looking bike. It has lots of horsepower and will move right on down the road. Will take me a little time to get use to all the features ,but I like it already. Going to add a few more extras , like highway bars and a luggage rack, but it is pretty much loaded.
Ill put a picture on here as soon as I can get one down loaded.
Hope to get many hours and miles out of this new bike ...loved my Honda but just time to move to a bigger bike.
"Keep the shiny side up and the wheels rollin".......see you down the highways.

Went for my post-op check up today. Dr Bennet said thing looked good. Still have some swelling but just use ice packs and he gave me a stretch leggin to put on. Also showed me another exercise to do. Have to go back in 3 weeks but things are looking good. I just have to be very careful with my knee from now on....only thing left to do is knee replacement if I mess it up again. Looking forward to riding again......
Met Millie and had lunch with her and Hardy today. That was nice...havent seen her all summer.
Only have about 19 more days til school starts back. Guess Ill start trying to get my mind set for that.
Hope all are well and having a GREAT day. Later

Tuesday, July 15, 2008

Made it through the surgery...got home yesterday about 11:30. Have felt really well....no vomiting.....thank goodness. Can walk and put little weight on it. Doing my exercises they told me to do...........it is sore but no real pain to speak of. He did 3 scope locations. Had to cut and clean up the interior and exterior meniscus (spelling) also clean off the spurs and arthritis. Said my ligament still looked ok......that was a blessing, but there is an area with no cartilage so the bone has begun to wear on each other. This place has a worn out indention that can not be repaired .......so next trouble will need big replacement.
Anyway ....Im good.......hope to be riding in a few days.
More later..

"What goes around....comes around" and today I got my chance. I catch so much crap from John and Joe about my HONDA.....well today I got to dish some of it out. John called this morning and said let's ride down to Jackson and have lunch with Susanne and Mary P. Sounded great to me....Im always ready to ride. So we got to Jason's Deli about 1....went ahead and ate while waiting on the kids. They were a little late. Then we waited while they ate and visited for a while. By this time it was 3......decided we better get on the road before any rain showers popped up. Well the famous HARLEY had a dead battery. Since those fine biked don t need a key to run, they are very easliy left on, running down the battery. That is just what John did......left the thing on.....so had a dead battery. Oh my ...did I laugh my head off. Of course he took it like a champ knowing he had done it to me .......sooooooooo many time. Told him when those HARLEY people get smart and start using a key that wont happen, because like those smart Honda people the bike will be off when the key is removed. I will post picture of this memorable event when Susanne E mails them to me. She had her camera handy to catch the sight of Big John sweating buckets in that heat while boosting off his FAT BOY HARLEY. Was true justice to me.........."What goes around......will always come back around. Oh yea,,,by the way Joe did the same thing on our ride to Fla. They will wise up one day and use a key.........

Have to check in Monday at 15 til 5. Linda is coming to stay with me for a few days, John took care of me last time, but he is busy in the field and knew he didnt need me on his hands. I hope in a about 3 days Ill be good to go. Only have a few more weeks til school starts and want to go on a bike trip somewhere for a few days.
Until later.......enjoy your day....

July the 4th is over..............we had a great day yesterday and ate wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much food. It was great fun for everyone at SMITHVILLE. Best part was John and I didnt spend 12 hours cooking , so we got to enjoy the meal much more. Had hamburgers, baked beans, slaw, corn on the cob, fresh tomatoes, watermelon and cantaloupe, and blackberry cobbler with ice cream. BOY....what more could you want on the 4th. Poor Kimbo is really feeling pregnant. Mama Smith and the girl are all fine. Betty Jane and Joe are waiting for the new grand baby and of course Lawson is excited. Dee is just the proud daddy.
We really had a wonderful time ..........
Chris came home ...that is always a treat for me. He will spend the night tomorrow before heading back home to relax on his week off work.
Getting some rain today ......that is a blessing. Hope we get more to come. That keeps me from riding my motorcycle , but it is worth it to have rain.
Later...............hope all are well and enjoy your week end.

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

July started off with a bang........at 4:18 this morning.......I jumped out of bed like a crazy person. I had left the water running in the garden for 12 hours. Well no rain needed on it now for a few days.
Then I had to take my bike to the shop today. Just hope this time they have it worked out and no more problems will follow. Ill go pick it up tomorrow ,then maybe Ill be ready to ride. Guess sometimes you just have to get the kinks worked out.
July 4th is coming up in a few days and Chris will be home. Cant wait to see him and my grandkitty ZEAK.
Want to wish everyone a great JULY 4TH............

Another hot ...dry day in the Delta, but we are hoping for rain. Our ride to the rally in Lynchburg Tn was nice. To start out the weather was wonderful....perfect for riding. I meet Fred, Eva, Todd and Laurie in town (Belzoni) . After all things were loaded and the bikes checked out we hit the road. A short trip to Greenwood and John was there waiting. Gased up ...we hit the road. Traveling the Natchez Trace is the idea riding for motorcycles.........scenery was great. Saw wildlife in the early morning hours and crops along the way. By Tupelo we gased up and got a bite of lunch. Then north we headed again. Made it to Fayettville, checked in our room , and ate wayyyyyyyyyy too much supper at the buffet. We sat around thepool ..chatted til about 9:30. This was a real treat because there were no bugs....MOSQUITOS that is. Sat. morning we rode up to Lynchburg to check out the rally...Todd and Laurie had never toured Jack Daniels ...so we enjoyed that. Clouds can up so didnt do any riding through the coutry side. But up there all the country side in beautiful. Leaving Sunday our ride hope was nice but warmed up after lunch. WE did make one side stop at Shiloh Park. The guys enjoyed the history of that area. One of the guides gave a talk on how the Civil War canons were loaded and fired. Got home about 6 Sunday evening . Alway fun for me to be with John , our time is so great to me. Will post some pictures later.

This blog was created just to see if I could do it.......well I did. Dont see myself keeping this going......so look for it to be short lived.

DAY ONE

This is a new thing for me.Just thought I would give it a try and see what happened. You can tell I must have wayyyyyyy too much time on my hands to be blogging. In a few day will be going on a bike ride to TN for a rally.
